Jot is designed with privacy in mind. We collect minimal information:

• User-Generated Content: Any text, headlines, or data you create within the App are stored locally on your device and synced to Firebase. This data is tied to a device-generated anonymous ID, not your personal identity.
• Saved Entries: Headlines and content you save are stored in Firebase Firestore and associated with your anonymous device ID.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

• Personal identification information (name, email, phone number)
• Location data
• Photos or media from your device
• Contacts or social connections
• Usage analytics or behavioral data
• Device identifiers for tracking purposes

3. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

4. Advertising

Jot displays advertisements powered by Google AdMob. AdMob may use cookies, device identifiers, and advertising IDs to deliver personalized or non-personalized ads. You can opt out of personalized advertising in your device settings:

• iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → toggle off "Allow Apps to Request to Track"
• Android: Settings → Google → Ads → opt out of Ads Personalization

5. Data Storage and Security

Your text entries are stored in Firebase Firestore with an anonymous device ID. This data is encrypted in transit and at rest. If you uninstall the App, your locally stored data will be permanently deleted. Firebase cloud data may persist until manually removed.

6. Children's Privacy

Jot is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
